Welcome Two New Certified Physician Assistants

Natalie Pautsch and Mukti Patel have joined the Apple Valley Medical Clinic as certified physician assistants (PA-Cs).

Natalie Pautsch, PA-C, graduated from Bethel University with a B.S. in biology before she obtained her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University. She said, “What I love about family medicine is that it brings such a diversity of patients and allows for unique and lasting relationships with the patients and their families. This gives me the ability to personalize care to each patient and family based on their desires and needs.”

Mukti Patel, PA-C, holds a B.S. from the University of South Carolina – Aiken and received a master’s in medical services and physician assistant from Nova Southeastern University. She said, “I enjoy the variety and time I get to spend with my patients.”

According to the American Academy of Physician Assistants, PA-Cs are nationally certified and state-licensed medical professionals who practice medicine on health care teams with physicians and other providers. They can prescribe medication and perform the following duties:

  1. Take medical histories
  2. Conduct physical exams
  3. Diagnose and treat illnesses
  4. Order and interpret tests
  5. Develop treatment plans
  6. Counsel on preventive care
  7. Assist in surgery
  8. Write prescriptions
  9. Make rounds in hospitals and nursing homes
