MA/CMA or EMT - Occupational Health Services - $1,500 Sign-On Bonus Apple Valley Medical Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant OR Certified Medical Assistant OR Emergency Medical Technician in Occupational Health Services. This position works with Family Medicine physicians, nursing staff, administrative staff and the various client/employers and their representative insurance companies to provide patient care management through clinical and administrative duties. This individual will be responsible for patient health screenings, rooming of patients as well as providing testing of Occupational Health Services. Requirements include a MA Diploma, current CMA certification OR Certification as an EMT. Previous Occupational Health experience is preferred. Hours for the position are Monday-Friday - 12-6p. What occupational health tests or exams are offered?

The Apple Valley Medical Center offers occupational health services, which include the following tests, exams, and services:

  • Pre-placement exams
  • OSHA respirator clearance exams
  • OSHA employee respirator questionnaire clearance
  • Department of Transportation, or DOT, exams
  • Fitness for duty or return to work exams
  • Physical abilities testing (P.A.T)
  • Tuberculosis, or TB, testing (Mantoux® and QuantiFERON Gold®)
  • Firefighter and police pre-employment exams
  • Drug and alcohol screening program: Federal and non-regulated urine drug screen testing with Medical Review Officer (MRO) program, including complimentary random selection administration. Federal & non-regulated breath alcohol testing. Blood alcohol testing.
  • Audiometric (hearing) testing
  • Employer vaccinations
  • Spirometry

What can my provider do to help improve the health and safety of your employees?

Occupational Health Services have proven to be a valuable service to our employers and community from both a screening and injury care standpoint. The diversity and multi-specialty backgrounds of our providers have created an environment that benefits both the employer and the employee.

For example, if you routinely visit your provider at the Apple Valley Medical Center with complaints about low back pain, your provider may review your day-to-day activities at work and suggest ways you can avoid stressing your back.

We understand that effective screening examinations for employment purposes, safety/compliance, employee productivity and the employees’ return to work from injury are your main priorities when it comes to your occupational medicine program. We understand the importance of having your employees on the job.

What if I am injured on the job?

We know that when your employees are injured at work, you want them seen and treated as quickly as possible. Our providers will manage your treatment in order to get your employees back to work as soon as medically appropriate and partner with you, your employees and insurance network through each case. We understand the importance of the following:

  • Returning your employee to work
  • Light duty/temporary alternative duty when work restrictions are needed
  • The physical demands of the particular job and work schedules
  • Referring only to experienced workers‘ compensation specialists when needed or medically appropriate
  • Communicating the status with you and your workers’ compensation insurance network while understanding OSHA recordable guidelines
  • Treating your employees with dignity and respect while providing the best care at all times
